COMMENTS
- Any number of friends and adversaries posted insightful, well-reasons entries on a range of subject. I wanted to respond to a majority of these, but yesterday was so hectic in the end, I didn't respond to any. I'll try to hit on at least one today.
- If you're day is resigned to Solitaire, and you're looking for something worthwhile to read, check these out:
· Christian proved that all issues can be resolved by
the Power of Rock.
· Cory tackles his home state of Kansas from a liberal point of view, while Michael explores a casualty in Iraq from a conservative perspective.
· Damien comments first on communion, then on discrimination against gays vs. Catholics.
· Dean drives Hunter Thompson together with politics.
· Tom frames a careful argument
counter to wedge issues in principle.
· Ziad continues to comment on his life in Lebanon, still struggling to keep politics out of his discussion.
As you can see, there's a lot to keep up on.
- Yesterday, I took a nap, then made a souffle for Jessica and Sam. We had a nice evening, including a conversation on all the drama in the Flint Schools... hopefully, more on this soon.
- I'm tired.
- Chicago has the cold, but doesn't have the snow. This is definitely a March that has roared in, and evidently we can expect more of the same in upcoming weeks.
- March is a better month than February this round for stargazing. Take advantage of the clear, bright skies and cold to see some things even through Chicago and Flint haze. From Adler:
MERCURY: "Look low in the western sky after sunset. If you see a bright star-like object, it's probably Mercury. On the 11th it sits just to the right of a faint sliver of a waxing crescent Moon. By the 19th, it's too close to the Sun to be readily visible."
