#1. After having fallen off the charts for the better half of a decade, Flint is back within reach of medals for violence and atrocity; it's the second most violent city in the nation (population > 100,000), ranked only after St. Louis. Take that, Detroit!

#2. Shiawassee County, which is sometimes included in Flint's metropolitan area, is now in all likelihood ranked first in the nation for number of incidents of of someone having his or her finger bitten off during a wedding reception. The tally is two unrelated incidents in two years.
