Understanding Postmodernism, #3.

CONCEPT

Writers and artists had to make such choices because they needed systematic and comprehensive alternatives to the dominant ideals of cultural modernism best represented by Enlightenment thinkers who emphasized a secular rationality promoting empiricism, material progress, and increasing democratization.
